he cool blue of the room was a perfect match to the dress shirt (and his eyes) that his wife had chosen for this special day. He had begged her to come; after all, she deserved the award as much as he did. As he finished the knot of his favorite Hermes tie, he could hear the distant chime of the California tower at Balboa Park , reminding him of his university days in Florence. Now he had come full circle -- from being a student at a prestigious university -- to being honored by one. He glanced at the Tiffany box sitting on the side chair and a smile formed on his tanned, handsome face. She thought of everything, from the perfect room, to the perfect watch.
